On July 12, 2024, at approximately 2:04 p.m., emergency services in Alexander County, North Carolina, received a distress call reporting a house fire and a victim with a gunshot wound at 1036 North Shore Drive in the Oliver’s Landing Development near Hickory. Upon arrival, first responders found that several good Samaritans had noticed smoke emanating from the residence and had bravely entered the burning home to rescue the occupant, identified as 64-year-old Teresa Ann Bowman.
