On July 26, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Parkwood Avenue, near Progress Park in northeast Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 38-year-old Bryan Xavier Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
