On the night of September 3, 2024, at approximately 10:27 p.m., the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 3000 block of Sanderosa Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 46-year-old Dealton Thaggard suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
