On September 15, 2024, at approximately 1:04 a.m., Rocky Mount Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at Hal Orr's Inn, located at 2420 North Wesleyan Boulevard in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered that 39-year-old Mack Jenkins had been shot following an altercation at the motel.
