On October 2, 2024, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Wilmington Police Department (WPD) officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 4000 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Caleb Osborn lying in the grass outside a nearby apartment complex, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigations revealed that Osborn had visited a nearby address to meet an acquaintance shortly before the shooting occurred.
The WPD has classified this case as an isolated homicide and is actively seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation. They have urged anyone who had recent contact with Osborn or who may have seen him in Wilmington or surrounding areas to come forward.
