Aboubacar Biro Dramé, a 32-year-old Guinean man, was shot and killed in the Wakefield section of the Bronx on a Tuesday in April 2023. Dramé was peacefully sitting outside his residence on Hill Avenue when two armed men approached him, leading to a heated verbal dispute.
The confrontation quickly turned violent, and despite being unarmed, Dramé attempted to resist his aggressors. In the ensuing struggle, he was shot once in the head and once in the shoulder.
The assailants then fled the scene.
Law enforcement officials recovered two. 40-caliber shell casings from the area. A neighbor's surveillance camera is said to have recorded the fatal encounter. As of the initial investigation, the police had not identified or arrested any suspects in connection with the homicide. Online sources and subsequent reports have not provided any updates regarding arrests or the naming of any suspects in the ongoing investigation into the death of Aboubacar Biro Dramé.
