On May 19, 2023, 13-year-old Jamoure Harrell was fatally shot in the head while sitting on a bench at Reverend Dr. Maggie Howard Playground in Staten Island, New York. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. as Jamoure was eating an egg sandwich near a basketball court. He was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
