Murdered

On August 2, 2023, 26-year-old NYPD Officer Alexis Martinez was found deceased in his Bronx apartment, the victim of an apparent murder-suicide. The incident occurred in the Soundview neighborhood, where Martinez resided with his father. Both individuals were discovered with gunshot wounds to the head, and a firearm was recovered at the scene. Investigators believe that Martinez's father, who had a history of mental health issues, fatally shot his son before taking his own life.
