In the late hours of a Sunday evening in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, a dispute tragically escalated, claiming the life of 33-year-old Christopher Brooks. On October 1, 2023, the Black male was riding his scooter near the intersection of West 185th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue when an argument erupted between him and the occupants of a car. The verbal altercation quickly turned violent, culminating in a passenger from the vehicle brandishing a firearm and shooting Brooks.
