Death by Force

On October 1, 2023, Christopher Brooks, a 33-year-old resident of Sugar Hill, New York, was fatally shot in Washington Heights. The incident occurred around 11:42 p.m. near the intersection of West 185th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. Brooks was riding a scooter when a car approached, and an altercation ensued between him and the driver. During the confrontation, a passenger from the car produced a firearm and shot Brooks in the torso. The assailants then fled the scene by car.
