On October 8, 2023, at approximately 6:58 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a residence on Bradley Avenue in Neversink, New York, following a report of a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, they found 71-year-old Lloyd Eugene "Botsy" Botsford receiving CPR from emergency medical services. During these efforts, responders discovered a gunshot wound to his head. Despite their attempts to revive him, Botsford was pronounced dead at the scene.
