In the fall of 2023, a simmering dispute over noise between neighbors in a Brooklyn apartment building erupted into a shocking act of violence that left two men dead. The lives of 27-year-old Chin Wai Mode and his 47-year-old stepfather, Bladimy Mathurin, were cut short on the evening of October 29th in the hallway of their Flatbush Gardens complex. The tragedy, captured on surveillance video, sent ripples of fear and sorrow through the community.
