On the night of December 26, 2023, Clarisa Burgos, a 28-year-old mother from Brooklyn, was fatally shot in the head while sitting in the passenger seat of a black Honda sedan in the Richmond Hill neighborhood of Queens, New York. The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old man, was also shot multiple times but managed to drive to the 103rd Precinct station house to seek help. Burgos was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
