On May 4, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a tragic shooting occurred during a baby shower at Volume Seventeen, an event venue located at 108-11 Atlantic Avenue in the Richmond Hill neighborhood of Queens, New York. The incident resulted in the death of 24-year-old Brooklyn resident, Jefari Dobie, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency medical services transported Dobie to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
