In the Bronx, on May 9, 2024, a tragic scene unfolded inside an apartment on Davidson Avenue, where 22-year-old Emely Morales was found dead. She was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to her head. Authorities have identified her as being of Black/African American ethnicity.
Responding to a 911 call, officers from the 46th Precinct arrived at the Morris Heights neighborhood residence to find a grim situation.
Alongside Emely, a 24-year-old man named Monroe Tillman was also found deceased, having sustained a gunshot wound to the head as well. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
Investigators discovered a firearm near the bodies, leading them to suspect the incident may have been a murder-suicide. While the investigation into the double fatality remains active, law enforcement sources have indicated this is a significant line of inquiry. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of Emely Morales and Monroe Tillman.
