On July 12, 2024, at approximately 12:18 a.m., 21-year-old Dyseem Jackson was fatally shot in the head outside the Albany Houses, a public housing complex located at 1400 Bergen Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Officers responding to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress discovered Jackson on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his head. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene.
