In the late summer of 2024, a sense of sorrow fell over a neighborhood in Upper Manhattan. On Tuesday, August 20th, Gregory J. Purvis, a 30-year-old male NYPD officer, was found deceased in his apartment on West 186th Street in the Hudson Heights area. Concern had grown when his patrol partner was unable to reach him, a silence that prompted a visit to his home to ensure his well-being.
