On the night of December 14, 2024, David Brown, a 47-year-old African American man, was fatally shot inside his apartment at the Polo Grounds Towers, a New York City Housing Authority complex located on Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem. Responding to a 911 call around 10:56 p.m., officers from the NYPD's 32nd Precinct discovered Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
