In the early hours of New Year's Day 2023, a disturbance call led police to a grim discovery in the 8800 block of Blewett Avenue in Jennings, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. There, in the middle of the street, lay the body of 32-year-old Akeem White, a resident of the 4300 block of West Florissant Avenue in St. Louis. He had been fatally shot.
