On January 4, 2023, 52-year-old Reginald G. Brandy Sr. was fatally shot at his workplace, Dobbs Tire and Auto Center, located at 12626 Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The incident occurred following a verbal altercation between Brandy and his co-worker, 23-year-old De Shawn L. Johnson. During the dispute, Johnson drew a firearm and shot Brandy multiple times. Emergency responders arrived shortly before 11 a.m. and pronounced Brandy dead at the scene.
