On August 18, 2024, at approximately 6:15 p.m., 37-year-old Jerome L. Gooden of St. Louis was fatally shot at the Circle K gas station located at 1999 McKelvey Road in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The incident began with an argument between Gooden and the store attendant, 25-year-old Jaymes AJ Mays, inside the store.
