On January 20, 2023, Michael Hampton, a 19-year-old resident of Ferguson, Missouri, was fatally shot in St. Louis. Police received a call around 11:46 p.m. reporting a shooting victim at Barnes Jewish Hospital's emergency room. Upon arrival, officers were informed that Hampton had succumbed to a gunshot wound to the neck. Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred in the 5800 block of Delmar Boulevard.
