On the night of Tuesday, February 7, 2023, law enforcement officials in St. Louis, Missouri, responded to a report of a shooting in the city's Baden neighborhood. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Riverview Boulevard, a residential area in the northern part of the city. Upon their arrival at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers discovered a male victim lying on the sidewalk.
The victim was identified as 41-year-old Harold Griffin.
First responders found him unconscious and not breathing, having sustained fatal injuries from gunfire. Despite the arrival of emergency personnel, Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Division was requested to lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, investigators did not have any suspects in custody.
