On March 22, 2023, the Joplin Police Department responded to a well-being check at 1403 E. Broadway Street in Joplin, Missouri. Upon arrival, officers forced entry into the residence and discovered the bodies of 24-year-old Savannah Bell and 44-year-old Jason Shofler, both residents of Joplin.
