On March 23, 2023, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Willie Lee, a 42-year-old resident of O'Fallon, Missouri, was fatally shot in the neck in the 1900 block of Bacon Street, near North Market Street, in St. Louis's Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
