On April 2, 2023, tragedy struck at a residence in north St. Louis, Missouri, involving 22-year-old Black male Demond M. Lee Jr. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched late that evening, arriving at the scene in the 3054 block of Marcus Avenue around 11:40 p.m. Upon entering a first-floor apartment, they discovered Lee suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
