In the early morning hours of September 19, 2024, a sense of normalcy was shattered in the Kingsway East neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Marshun White, a 42-year-old male, was enjoying a late summer night with his friend, 34-year-old Marcus Price, outside their apartment building on North Kingshighway Boulevard. The two men, familiar and friendly faces in their community, were ambushed in a sudden and violent attack.
Two unidentified individuals, who had reportedly been surveilling
the men for over an hour, ran up to them and opened fire. White and Price were both struck by multiple gunshots and were pronounced dead at the scene when police arrived shortly after 3:20 a.m. The brazen shooting left numerous shell casings scattered across the area, a grim testament to the violence that had unfolded. A handgun was also recovered at the scene by investigators.
The assailants fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV immediately after the shooting. In the wake of the double homicide, law enforcement released surveillance footage and images of the two male suspects. The footage shows the individuals walking near the apartment complex before breaking into a run, with one appearing to be armed with a handgun. Despite these efforts and the circulation of the suspects' images, no arrests have been made in the case.
The investigation into the murders of Marshun White and Marcus Price remains active. Family members of White expressed their shock, stating that he had no known enemies. The case has drawn the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the individuals responsible for this double homicide.
