On April 4, 2023, 36-year-old Carl Stewart was fatally shot at the Days Inn & Suites located at 8601 Hillcrest Road in Kansas City, Missouri. Police responded to reports of an armed disturbance around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Stewart inside a hotel room, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite officers' attempts at life-saving measures, Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene.
