On April 25, 2023, 18-year-old Isiah Craig Fitzgerald of Sikeston, Missouri, was fatally shot following an online dispute that escalated into a tragic confrontation. The incident began when Fitzgerald reacted with a laughing emoji to a Facebook photo posted by 20-year-old Tanner Watkins, which featured Watkins and his girlfriend.
