In the afternoon of May 8, 2023, a burst of violence cut short the life of Elma Lamont Davis, a 36-year-old Black / African American man, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. The fatal encounter unfolded just before 2 p.m. in the parking lot of a shuttered Walgreens situated near the intersection of Gravois and Grand avenues in the Tower Grove South neighborhood.
