On August 1, 2023, 39-year-old Jesse Dewayne Thomas II was fatally shot inside a residence near 60th Street and Indiana Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 3 a.m. and found Thomas unresponsive with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
