On July 7, 2023, at approximately 4:35 a.m., 52-year-old Jametric Steele was fatally shot near a QuikTrip gas station on the 4100 block of Gravois Avenue in south St. Louis. Responding officers found Steele with gunshot wounds to his neck and head; he was unconscious and not breathing upon their arrival.
