In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Kansas City, Missouri, the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 71 were pierced by the sound of gunfire. It was August 6, 2023, when police received a call around 11 p.m. reporting a shooting near 22nd Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle stopped on the side of the highway, the scene of a sudden and brutal act of violence. Inside the car were two young victims of a drive-by shooting, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
