In the early hours of a Monday morning in St. Louis County, Missouri, a dispute between friends escalated into deadly violence, leaving two men dead from gunshot wounds. The incident occurred on August 14, 2023, inside a residence on Old Hanley Road. Jason Bowdy, a 43-year-old male, was identified as one of the deceased.
Police responded to a call for a shooting at approximately 1:50 a.m. and discovered two men with apparent gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department revealed that an exchange of gunfire had taken place inside the home.
According to police, Jason Bowdy was shot by the initial suspect, who was later identified as 41-year-old Lance Ballard. Following the shooting of Bowdy, a third individual present at the scene fired a weapon, striking and killing Ballard. Family members described Bowdy and Ballard as friends, though what led to the fatal disagreement remains unclear.
