In the quiet of a Sunday afternoon on September 3, 2023, the life of 26-year-old Taron R. Robinson was tragically cut short. A Black male, Robinson was inside a residence in the 5300 block of Gladstone Place, near the intersection of Interstate 70 and Lucas and Hunt Road in St. Louis County, when he was fatally shot. The call reporting the shooting came in to the St. Louis County Police Department at approximately 1:24 p.m.
When officers from the Central County Precinct arrived at the scene, they discovered Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite any efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased at the residence.
The initial stages of the investigation into Robinson's death suggested a grim familiarity. Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department's Crimes Against Persons unit quickly determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence.
