On December 3, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m., St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers responded to a report of a stationary vehicle on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 55 near the Seventh Street off-ramp, close to the city's Soulard neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Timothy Roberts inside a silver Toyota, unconscious and not breathing, with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
