In the early morning hours of January 6, 2024, a patrol officer discovered the body of 17-year-old African American male Jaimarcus McDaniel lying face down in a snow-covered field near the intersection of Apricot and Emma Avenues in Jennings, Missouri. The officer had noticed the figure while patrolling the area around 4:30 a.m. Preliminary investigation revealed that the teenager had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to his head, chest, and limbs.
