On January 6, 2024, 17-year-old Jaimarcus McDaniel of East St. Louis, Illinois, was found deceased in a field near Apricot and Emma avenues in Jennings, Missouri. Discovered by a St. Louis County patrol officer around 4:30 a.m., McDaniel had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including two to the head and several to the chest, shoulders, thigh, and forearm.
