In the quiet neighborhood of Moline Acres in St. Louis County, the evening of Sunday, March 24, 2024, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Police were dispatched to the 9900 block of Lanier Drive around 6:30 p.m. after a ShotSpotter activation alerted them to the possibility of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a car that had crashed into a tree. Inside the vehicle was 29-year-old Tremain Purnell, a male resident of Spanish Lake, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
