On May 18, 2024, 19-year-old Eddie Randle Jr. was fatally shot during a drive-by incident in the 3000 block of Olive Street in St. Louis' Midtown neighborhood. The shooting occurred near a large gathering of approximately 200 young people in a parking lot shortly before midnight. Three other individuals—a 19-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman, and another unidentified woman—sustained injuries in the attack.
