Death by Force

Nathan C. Lavin, aged 34, was killed on October 31, 2014, in St. Louis, Missouri. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of Hampton Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Lavin lying on the pavement in a pool of blood, having suffered gunshot wounds to his neck and arm. The scene was particularly grim, as two pit bulls were also found nearby with apparent gunshot wounds; one of the dogs died at the scene, while the other died later at an animal hospital.
