On June 10, 2024, 28-year-old McKinley "Mac" Johnson Jr. was fatally shot near Truman Road and Grand Boulevard in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. near the Kansas City Power and Light District. Upon arrival, police found Johnson lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds; he was transported to a hospital where he later died. Two women were also injured in the shooting but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
