On June 30, 2024, the body of 71-year-old Beauford Wilson from Hallsville, Missouri, was discovered near Beechnut Road, south of Stover. He was found lying against a tree, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. An autopsy conducted by the Greene County Medical Examiner confirmed the presence of gunshot injuries to his head, right calf, and left arm.
