In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Gray, Georgia, the life of Marquis Deshaun Lawson, an 18-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short. On July 24, 2013, between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, Lawson was struck by a vehicle in what the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has since deemed a vehicular homicide. His body was later discovered on the side of Wheeler Road, just west of its intersection with Patton Road.
