On a Thursday morning, just before 10:30 a.m. on October 3, 2024, the life of 68-year-old William Shannon Bradford, a male, came to a violent end outside his own home in Kansas City, Missouri. An argument in the 5400 block of College Avenue escalated with shocking suddenness, a dispute that would ultimately leave one man dead and another facing a lifetime behind bars.
The confrontation, captured on a Ring doorbell camera, showed Bradford in a heated exchange with another individual.
This person was later identified as 28-year-old D'Aires J. Gadson. In a chilling sequence of events, Gadson produced a handgun and opened fire on Bradford. As Bradford desperately sought cover behind his Ford F-150 truck, Gadson continued his relentless assault, firing multiple shots and ultimately striking Bradford in the back. Witnesses at the scene reported a harrowing aftermath, stating that Gadson proceeded to go through Bradford's pockets before stealing his truck and making a swift getaway. When emergency responders arrived, they found Bradford unresponsive in the street; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
