On October 20, 2024, Derrick Johnson, a 48-year-old resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was fatally shot in a double shooting incident in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. The shooting occurred around 5:45 p.m. in the 3800 block of Garfield Avenue.
