In the early evening of November 2, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet in the 4200 block of Bayless Avenue near Affton, an area in St. Louis County. When officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct arrived at the scene around 7:25 p.m., they discovered the body of 21-year-old Jalin Sanders. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Sanders was a resident of the 4400 block of Vermillion Drive.
Another adult male was also involved in the incident and was found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not clarified the nature of this second man's involvement in the shooting. The St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is heading the ongoing homicide investigation.
While the investigation into Jalin Sanders's death continues, police have indicated that they are not looking for any other suspects. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Investigators have encouraged anyone with information to contact the St. Louis County Police Department or CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous.
