Murdered

On March 4, 2023, at approximately 5:06 p.m., Newark police responded to reports of gunfire on the 700-block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims with apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified as 35-year-old Sajade A. Nichols from Carteret, New Jersey, was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:54 p.m. The second victim, an unidentified male, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:25 p.m.
