On May 22, 2023, at approximately 12:10 a.m., Newark police responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of Riverview Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Newark resident, Jamid Hargrove, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m.
