In the summer of 2011, a young life was tragically cut short on the streets of Newark, New Jersey. Dante Young, a 13-year-old male, was fatally shot late on a Sunday night in June. The incident occurred in the 300 block of South Orange Avenue, where Dante sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to University Hospital but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m. Dante was remembered by his family as a typical teenager who enjoyed playing video games.
