In the early morning hours of October 28, 2023, violence erupted on a street in Passaic, New Jersey, forever altering the lives of two families. In the area of Harrison Street and Hope Avenue, a shooting occurred at approximately 3:16 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two male victims who had been struck by gunfire. One of the victims, Edgar Guillen, a 25-year-old resident of Passaic, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, 18-year-old Kyle Ramon
Schneider, also a resident of Passaic, was found in critical condition. He was rushed to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson for emergency medical treatment. For several days, Schneider fought for his life, but his injuries proved to be too severe. On November 1, 2023, Kyle Ramon Schneider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and the Passaic Police Department are actively investigating the double homicide. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact them. As of early November 2023, the killer or killers remained at large, and no arrests had been made in connection with the deaths of Kyle Schneider and Edgar Guillen.
