Richard H. Berdnik, the 64-year-old Sheriff of Passaic County, New Jersey, tragically died on January 23, 2024, in an apparent suicide at Toros Restaurant in Clifton, NJ. Multiple sources confirmed that Berdnik fatally shot himself in the restaurant's bathroom around 3:30 p.m. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot after Berdnik excused himself to use the restroom.
