On a Tuesday afternoon in Clifton, New Jersey, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik, a man who had dedicated over four decades of his life to law enforcement, ended his own life. The incident occurred on January 23, 2024, inside the restroom of Toros, a local Turkish restaurant on Hazel Street. Berdnik was having a late lunch when he excused himself to go to the bathroom.
